How to use a discount code, step by step

You’ve got a discount code! This guide walks you through using a code from CodeKhasmk, step by step, so the discount really shows up on your order. The steps are much the same at most online stores; usually only the place of the code box changes.

1. Pick your country first

Codes differ from country to country, and many work in one country only. On your first visit CodeKhasmk asks where you shop, and you can change it any time with the country button at the top of the page. Pick the country your order will be delivered to, not the one you are browsing from.

2. Find the store

Type the store’s name in the search box at the top, or browse “Categories” and “All stores”. Each store has its own page in each country, showing only the codes that are live there.

3. Read the code’s terms before you copy it

Under every code is a line with its terms, as the store gave them. Look out for:

• the minimum order value and the maximum discount;
• whether the code is for new customers or a first order only;
• whether it works in the store’s app only;
• products, brands or sale items it leaves out;
• the end date, if the store set one.

4. Tap “Copy code”

Opening the case file means copying the code: the code is copied to your device, then the store’s site opens so you can carry on shopping there. If the store does not open, open its site or app yourself — the code is still ready to paste. Some offers need no code at all: tap the offer’s button to reach its page at the store.

5. Add what you want to the basket

Choose your items and add them to the store’s basket, and make sure the total reaches the minimum order in the terms, if there is one.

6. Paste the code in its box at checkout

On the basket or checkout page you will find a box called something like “Promo code”, “Coupon” or “Discount code”. Paste the code exactly as it is, with no spaces before or after it, then tap apply. Some stores treat capital and small letters differently, so copying is safer than typing.

7. Check the discount before you pay

Quick tips

• Most stores accept one code per order, so pick the one that suits your basket best: compare the percentage with its cap and the minimum order.
• If a code is “app only”, use it in the store’s app, not on its website.
